Recreational Classes are offered in the following genres:


Ballet (ages 3+)

Ballet is the foundation for all genres of dance.  It provides dancers with critical technical training and strength needed across all genres.  At TDC our dancers are trained in the RAD syllabus of ballet.  Selected  ballet students participate in annual RAD exams and all of our ballet students perform a dance in our annual Showcase in June.


Jazz (ages 4+)

Jazz is a fun upbeat style of dance full of exciting jumps and turns. All of our jazz dancers will perform a dance in our annual Showcase in June. 


Tap (ages 4+)

Tap is an exciting style of dance where dancers wear special shoes with metal taps on the toes and heals.  Tap dancers learn to use their feet to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats.  All of our tap dancers will perform a dance in our annual Showcase in June.


Acro (ages 4+)

Acro dance is a combination of gymnastics tricks and dance elements.  It can be either fast paced or slow and controlled.  Dancers will learn a variety of gymnastic based tricks from front rolls and handstands to handsprings and layouts.  These tricks are combined with dance elements in an end of year dance that is performed at the annual Showcase in June.


Hip Hop (ages 5+)

Hip Hop is a dance style that has evolved from hip-hop music culture.  Hip includes various styles such as breakdancing, popping, locking and krumping.  All of our hip hop dancers will learn and perform a dance at our annual Showcase in June.


Lyrical (ages 8+)

Lyrical is a fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques.  It is performed to music with lyrics that inspire the movement and emotion of the dance.  All of our lyrical dancers will learn a dance that is performed in our annual Showcase in June.


Musical Theatre (ages 5+)

Musical theatre is a fun and exciting class incorporating both drama and dance into a broadway style performance.  Our dancers will learn a dance that is performed in our annual Showcase in June.
